Here’s How to Get Started

STARTING THERAPY CAN FEEL A LITTLE SIMPLER

Beginning therapy is a personal decision, and knowing what to expect can make it feel more approachable. Here, you’ll learn how consultations, therapist matching, scheduling, and your first session work at Active Mindset Co.

HOW TO GET STARTED

Schedule a Consultation

Complete the New Client Questionnaire to schedule a complimentary 15-minute phone consultation. The call is used to learn what the client is looking for, answer questions, and determine fit before scheduling the first appointment.

01

Create Your Plan

If the client decides to move forward, the first session is scheduled and the therapist begins exploring the client’s goals, experiences, and what they hope to gain from therapy.

02

Begin Your Growth

Therapy begins with understanding the client’s needs and working toward meaningful, lasting change through insight, practical tools, and healthier patterns.

What to Expect From Therapy

01

First Session

The first session is focused on getting to know you and understanding what brought you to therapy. We will talk about your current concerns, relevant background, and what you hope will feel different. You will also have space to ask questions, and there is no expectation to share everything at once.

02

Ongoing Sessions

Sessions are shaped around your needs and goals. Some sessions may involve deeper reflection and conversation, while others may focus on practical tools, coping strategies, or new ways of approaching patterns in your life. Therapy is collaborative, so your feedback helps guide the work.

03

Session Frequency

Many clients begin with weekly or biweekly sessions. Frequency is decided individually based on your needs, goals, availability, and the level of support that feels most helpful.

04

Checking Progress

Progress may show up through a better understanding of yourself, healthier responses to stress, stronger boundaries, improved relationships, or feeling more equipped to handle challenges. We will check in together throughout therapy to make sure the work continues to feel relevant and useful.

LET’S MAKE STARTING FEEL A LITTLE EASIER

Reaching out can feel vulnerable, even when you know you are ready for something to change.

The consultation gives you space to ask questions, share what you are looking for, and see whether our practice feels like the right fit. You do not need to have everything figured out before we talk.
