IN-PERSON & VIRTUAL THERAPY

GRIEF & LOSS

After a Loss, Life Can Feel Unfamiliar

The loss of someone important, the end of a relationship, or another meaningful change can leave life feeling unfamiliar. You may feel overwhelmed, disconnected from others, or unsure how to carry your grief while managing everyday responsibilities.

You want space to understand difficult or conflicting emotions, feel less pressure to appear β€œokay,” and honor what was lost while finding a way forward. At Active Mindset Co., we offer virtual grief and loss therapy for adults ages 21 and older located in Maryland and Washington, D.C.

Here’s what we’ll do together

THERAPY for GRIEF & LOSS

Grief does not need to follow a certain timeline to deserve care and support.

A cluttered dining table with a laptop, papers, a tablet, a mug, and a plate with sliced boiled eggs and a slice of tomato, surrounded by wooden chairs. In the background, a vase of flowers and a basket of fruit are visible.

Grief can affect your mind, body, relationships, identity, and daily life. Together, we’ll make sense of what you’re experiencing, develop grounding and coping skills for difficult moments, and find ways to communicate your needs and accept support from others.

Our approach is compassionate, collaborative, and responsive to what you need from session to session. We won’t rush you toward acceptance or ask you to leave the loss behind. Sessions give you space to speak honestly and move at a pace that respects both the significance of your loss and your individual way of grieving.

Depending on your needs, sessions may draw from person-centered therapy, CBT, ACT, and strengths-based therapy.
